A shop has a few seconds to catch a passer-by. A bright, well-designed neon sign board for your shop works day and night to turn those seconds into visits. Here is what makes a business sign work, and how to choose one that suits your brand.
Why neon signs get noticed
- Light draws the eye, especially after dark when most streets are dim.
- Colour signals your brand: warm amber for a café, cool cyan for a tech store, pink for a boutique.
- “Open” signs reduce doubt. People walk in when they are sure you are open.
- Photo moments: customers share pictures with a good sign, which is free advertising.
Shopfront or inside?
Outside signs need the waterproof IP67 build and a size readable from across the road, often 90 cm to 1.5 m. Inside feature walls can be smaller and more playful: a slogan behind the counter, a selfie wall or your logo at the reception.
Designing your logo in neon
Most logos can be made in neon with small simplifications: thin details are merged and very small text is enlarged or dropped. We redraw your logo as a vector on the computer, laser-cut the acrylic to its outline and bend the LED neon by hand. You see a mock-up and a fixed quote before anything is made.
Neon or Luma sign boards?
Neon draws lines of light, perfect for logos and short words. Luma sign boards are evenly lit panels, better for menus, long names and daytime readability. Many shops use both: a Luma board on the fascia and a neon accent inside.
Checklist before you order
- Measure the wall and the distance customers will read it from.
- Pick one or two brand colours.
- Check local rules for outdoor signs in your area.
